So many interesting women, and so little time.

Hence, the monthly Last Friday Ladies Lunch, held from noon to 2 p.m. the last Friday of each month at the Maybeck-inspired Hillside Club (www.hillsideclub.org), which was founded by Berkeley women in 1898.

This informal lunch encourages women (and a few women-friendly men) to share their ideas and promote (or denigrate) themselves if they like over an unusually savory and sustainably prepared meal by The Bread Workshop in Berkeley. Cost is $12, payable at the door, and to receive a monthly invitation, click here.

Prepare to talk about yourself at each lunch in front of the group, although you don’t have to reveal anything if you prefer. We end each lunch with a short talk by a randomly selected amazing person, such as Erica Lutz, author of “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Stepparenting” and editor in chief of LiteraryMama.com; Nan Gefen, who founded an online literary journal for older women (www.persimmontree.org); Sherry Miller, an artist and self-proclaimed oldest woman on the web (www.sherryart.com); and Gwen Mazer, a well-known fashion editor, who wrote “Wise Talk, Wild Women,” a book that might apply to all of us who attend these lunches.

Feel free to contact Sylvia for suggestions about speakers, food, venue, or anything else you’d like to share.
