About the Last Fridays Ladies Lunch
of every month
Noon til 1:30pm
The Hillside Club, Berkeley
Free. Potluck. Bring a dish to share.
So many interesting women, and so little time. Hence, the monthly Last Friday
The Last Friday Ladies Lunch (also for gentle men) draws women in all professions (or not) for vivacious discussions over a potluck lunch at the Hillside Club, 2286 Cedar St., in Berkeley. Usually held on the last Friday of the month from noon to 1:30 p.m, speakers include ordinary women doing extraordinary things.
Everyone is welcome to these lunches, including men, children, and anyone you think might enjoy sitting around our table. Everyone gets to introduce themselves, so bring some food to share and come prepared for all kinds of nourishment.
Each lunch we feature a speaker from the community, including artists, authors, architects, opera singers, aromatherapists, and even corporate executives.
Previous speakers have included Frances Dinkelspiel, author of "Towers of Gold," who spoke about the influence of Jews in shaping California; Barbara Rydlander, art historian and teacher who gave us insights into the Georgia O'Keefe exhibit at the deYoung Museum; and Gillian Kuehner, a surgeon at Kaiser Valley and director of Breast Care Services for KP Napa-Solano who organized a same-day assessment clinic for women with palpable breast masses, instituted a multi-discplinary breast care conference, and has received awards for her work in supporting women with breast cancer.
Hillside Club (www.hillsideclub.org),
which was founded by Berkeley
women in 1898, is a delightful location to get together and celebrate the vibrant women in our community.
